Christmas shopping has kicked in… groan… (actually I don;t mind it too much) which means taking photos (and processing photos) has taken a back seat… groan…
Last night I was in the West End, in Oxford Street and I have to say it?s the first year I can remember the Christmas lights being quite impressive. It might be nice to get back and try some night photography there, so far a region of town I have mostly steered clear of.
Anyway back to this photo… the back streets of East London are full of warehouses, offices and small cubby holes of hidden activity. Many of the entrances show the evidence of every day hustle and bustle, a story of the activity inside. I?m actually quite fascinated by this sort of “wear and tear” (e.g. my recent post Holy Steps) and have several pictures of similar such broken and neglected doors/windows, entrance ways which but I?ve so far not posted them because I?m not confident others will share my interest.
