It has been quite some time tat I have actively searched out bokeh and naturey crap (as it was always known on Flickr some time ago). Today a visit to the local park when the sun was out… not much to be found and at normal walking pace, nothing… but wander for long enough, ponder for long enough, test shot after test shot and then some subjects and compositions start to emerge. Here is one such example, just sitting at the edge of the car park, neglected, nothing to see. But at the right angle and with sunlight strong enough colours and bokeh is found. Amazing really.
Today shooting with a new combination for naturey crap. The Sony A7R2 and the Zeiss 55mm F1.8. And what a a lens. The lens is not new but I have not used it for this kind of shooting before, I usually grab the Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro (old habits and all that). I kept the lens at F1.8, didn’t even stop it up, no need with this lens… The combination of the lens and Sony A7R mk II is simply amazing particularly when in search of bokeh, focus assist, amazing, focus zooming, amazing, view finder, amazing. Sure there are times when it would be nice to get closer to the subject but the full frame sensor and 42mp resolution allows amazing flexibility with crops. I could not go back to non mirrorless.
