
The meadows (or flood plains) of Dresden are fairly well known and at one point in time were the reason for Dresden’s Wold Heritage Site status being awarded (and for it being taken away but I wont get into that story). These meadows are protected and cant be built on but actually you wouldn’t want to build here because because the mighty Elbe river has quite a seasonal depth change and once every 10 years or so floods extensively.
