It's departure time for me, the time has come for my much anticipated trip to Japan. With most of the people I know being envious, I realise now that Japan is more of a desirable destination that I had first thought.

For me it has always been a desirable destination, I have wanted to go to Japan for a very long time and particularly since I saw Akira in 1988. I was amazed, and to be honest I still am. Since then the draw of the "mega metropolis" of Tokyo has always been there. I have heard and seen the stories of Tokyo, the futuristic city, used as the theoretical inspiration for many of the best known sci-fi films of my generation.

Now, we all know more about Japanese culture both ancient and modern and all of it is fascinating, one of the most rich and inspirational cultures in the world and in less than 24 hours I will be experiencing it first hand. Wow :-))) See you in 2 weeks.
