It's not hard to see where this spectacular view was taken. It's The London Eye. I was lucky enough to be taken for a "flight" (as they are known) as a birthday present and what an amazing sight London is at night.
This shot is not as easy to take as you might think. Tripods are not allowed on the London Eye so it's a case of resting the camera wherever you can to get a half decent, half sharp image. Here the camera was resting against the glass and I fired off 4 or 5 on continuous shooting mode in the hope of getting one or two sharp ones. Using this hit and hope technique meant that I took over 100 pictures at ISO-800 and 1600 in the 20 minutes it takes the wheel to revolve and surprisingly a good number are usable.
Once I have processed them I'll post some more of the shots from the flight.
Also one of the reasons I liked this one was because of the "mysterious" girl looking straight into the camera. Does the Eye have ghosts?
